What did it feel like when you fell in love?

- Blue Valentine (2010).

I'm having a total Ryan Gosling moment. BABE.

Unsocial Networking

The other half and I hit Edinburgh a couple of days ago for a romantic break. Sickeningly sweet, isn't it? We had an absolutely lovely time, and for some excruciatingly irritating reason I felt the need to constantly update about it. Social networking is ruining my life (and relationship)!

It seems to me that our generation of twenty somethings, and increasingly the even younger generation (sob!) are becoming somewhat dependent on the internet for communication.

The OH and I visited a few tourist spots and I checked-in (Seriously).

Staring at me (white russian bleary eyed) he asked what on earth I was doing on my phone.

"I can't get signal! People need to know we're in Lebowski's!" (see that, I even had to tell you then.)

"Why?"

Um... yeah. Why? Our generation have a horrific need to update in real time, it's like some way of stamping our presence on the world wide web. We love to 'like', and indeed, count the subsequent likes. Why does the fight for likes matter? I was having a wonderful time, but took that extra 2 minutes to let everyone know as if it was important?

Next time, no phones.

Also, why is it socially unacceptable to like my own status? I'm hilarious.

After my little rant I can't resist showing you some (read: lots) of the photos...
necklace: gogophilip
blouse: asos
jeans: new look
boots: asda (covered in black nail varnish. i'm poor.)

the boy wears: 'eh, i dunno'

how beautiful is this hotel room?!

sharing starter. i ate most of this. sharing & food are not words that go together.

can it still be Christmas, please?

I wanted all the hats. The OH pulled me away. Spoilsport.

SPEXY!
(see what i did there? hah.)

this is my dream house.

  6. It's so true about updating all the time, I used to do it everywhere I went but I've started to calm down a bit the past 6 months - don't think it's really necessary, but it's just so addictive! I really do love your blog, keep up the good work :)
