Oooh I love my job, so I do.

As part of my job as a cinema usher in one of Scotland's top contemporary arts centres (wheyhey check me out guys) I get to watch a tonne of films, some good films, some great films, some amazing films!

Some not so good films. Some right naff ones, too.

Hitchcock unfortunately falls into the latter category for me and let me babble as to why!

I am pretty impressed with the fat suit / prosthetic double chin combo they've got goin' on here - Anthony Hopkins really does look the part.

The film revolves around the relationship between The Master and his unsung wife and collaborator, Alma Reville, at a time when Hitchcock's career was hanging in the balance. Studios refused to fund his latest brainchild, Psycho, a film that went on to become the most acclaimed and influential film of his career. It stands at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and if you haven't seen it WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Ooh its a classic, hide behind the pillow, sleep with the lights on, don't trust your neighbor horror film.

This - Hitchcock - was to give a bit of an insight as to the making of Psycho...

I hear you squeal (or theres a talking mouse hanging about my living room somewhere). Well, it could have been folks. We're talking a film about a masterpiece, made by the master of cinema! 

I'm going to say master one more time, I like it. 

Hopkins does nothing for me; he's just a bit bland. Not awful, but just, bleh.  I have to say, Helen Mirren is fantastic - couldn't she rock the pink hair in this film too? 

That'd make it a little more exciting.

One of my all time cine-faves include Psycho and frankly this film does it, nor its maker, no justice.

 Just re-watch Hitchcock's masterpiece (heh) again.
